Greenland Selected for Louisiana Medical Center District Energy Plant Expansion

The Joint Venture between Greenland Enterprises, Inc. and SAW Contracting, Inc. was recently awarded a $22.7M district heating plant project for an Alexandria, LA based healthcare facility. The project includes renovating the existing 4,300 square foot Boiler Plant and constructing a new 2,087 square foot addition.

The overall project goal is to provide a new, fully functional, medical center boiler plant and replace the existing underground portion of the high-pressure steam distribution and pumped condensate return system. The new facility will house three new 600-HP fire tube boilers and the balance of plant equipment needed in for the plant.

Greenland Selected for UVA District Energy Plant Expansion

Greenland Enterprises has been selected as the General Contractor to expand the University of Virginia North Grounds district energy plant. This will be the second district energy project Greenland is providing for UVA. In 2019 Greenland completed an upgrade to the main campus heating plant.

The North Grounds project includes installing a 1,300-ton centrifugal chiller with free-cooling capabilities, two 6,000 MBH condensing boilers, three 236-ton heat recovery chillers and one 1,280-ton cooling tower. Also included are piping and controls upgrades for the various systems. The project’s expansion scope will address electrical, plumbing and structural needs to allow for installing the new equipment, along with demolishing and removing the existing heat recovery equipment and piping.

Soo Locks Project Milestone

Greenland’s marine construction project at the Soo Locks in Sault Sainte Marie, MI reached a major milestone as three new boilers were barged over to the steam plant and set in place. Extensive coordination with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), the Chief Lockmaster and key Greenland trade partners was necessary for the successful over-water transport milestone. Read More

Greenland Enterprises Named Prime Contractor for Wright-Patterson AFB Project

Greenland Enterprises has been awarded a $19.6MM contract with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Louisville District for the replacement of the existing Area A Line C High-Temperature Hot Water (HTHW)/Steam heating system with gas-fired heating systems. The systems serve the National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC), Headquarters Air Force Materiel Command (HQ AFMC), Tenant, Visiting Officer Quarters (VOQ), and the 88th Air Base Wing (88 ABW) F/10840 facilities at Wright-Patterson AFB, OH.
