Greenland Enterprises Teams with SAW Contracting on Boiler Plant Renovation Project

Greenland Enterprises and SAW Contracting are teaming together on an $8.9 million boiler plant renovation project at the VA Medical Center in Bay Pines, FL. The project involves renovating the existing boiler plant, removing four high-pressure boilers, and installing three new boilers.

The project presents unique challenges as construction crews will need to drive pilings to support the new boiler foundations in a fully occupied steam plant, which provides steam to the healthcare facility. Greenland has extensive experience in minimizing downtime and construction impacts in hospital environments, which is one of the many reasons they were selected for the project.

In addition to the new boilers, the project includes replacing all boiler control systems, safety devices, steam and condensate lines, heat recovery systems, water softener systems, and more. The project is expected to begin in late 2018 or early 2019.
