Greenland Enterprises is teaming with SAW Contracting to remove and replace three boilers at the VA Medical Center in Marion, IL. The best-source selection project involves work in and around the 1940’s boiler house building, which is on the National Register of Historic Places.
The team will remove three existing 300 BHP boilers and install three new 250 BHP boilers. Because the boilers support critical systems on the medical campus, temporary boilers will be installed and tied-in to the systems during construction to ensure a continuous supply of steam. The $6.4M project also includes updated mechanical and electrical systems for the new boilers, along with infrastructure to support future connections to emergency backups.
