We’re pleased to share the following press release about our latest contract award, in a joint venture with SAW Contracting.

HAMPTON, VA – Two Virginia-based industrial contractors recently created a joint venture team to compete for a boiler plant decentralization project at Joint Base Louis-McChord in Tacoma, WA.  The combination of each company’s perspective and expertise ultimately created the best offering – resulting in a $15.5M award by the Army Corps of Engineers, Seattle District.

This west coast project is an example of Greenland’s growing national reputation.

The two companies – SAW Contracting, Inc. and Greenland Enterprises, Inc. – have worked together in the past on similar central plant projects, but this award represents the first to be delivered on the West Coast.  The Base is about an hour south of Seattle, and is the fourth largest military installment worldwide by population. The contract involves decommissioning several large, aging steam plants and replacing them with modern, high-efficiency boilers and heating systems. The new boiler systems will be installed in over 50 buildings across the 86,000-acre base.

The Joint-Venture team of SAW Contracting and Greenland Enterprises was selected based on an evaluation of price along with project-specific experience and qualifications, including design-build expertise with distributed heating systems.

“Our two companies have been very effective combining core competencies, and look forward to delivering another successful project for the government,” said SAW President Anthony Williams.  “We’re steadily expanding our reach across the US as our reputation for specialized construction grows,” said Greenland President Elton Roller.  “Our past successes teaming with SAW Contracting on central plant projects are creating new opportunities for both companies.”

SAW Contracting has significant experience with traditional commercial and government building construction, while Greenland brings more specialized expertise in design-build of central utility plants and other complex mechanical infrastructure projects.  SAW Contracting is headquartered in Virginia Beach, Virginia.  Greenland Enterprises is headquartered in Hampton, Virginia with regional offices in Raleigh, North Carolina and Boston, Massachusetts.  More information is available at and
