Greenland Enterprises 2017 Year in Review

2017 was a busy and productive year for Greenland Enterprises as we continued to provide our specialized construction expertise for projects throughout the US.  Here are a few highlights:

Early in the year we were starting construction on a new boiler plant for a medical center in Erie, PA. In December we completed a major milestone of the $11.7M project – finishing the structural construction phase for the facility housing three natural gas boilers.

In March Greenland was selected to install the infrastructure and equipment for a new generator system at the VA Medical center in Lebanon, PA. The $2.5M project included the demolition and removal of the existing structure, installing natural gas powered generators to provide power to the center, and upgrades to the electrical infrastructure.

Over the summer Greenland submitted a bid to replace six critical air handling units at the H.H. McGuire VA Medical Center in Richmond, VA.  Greenland was awarded the project based in large part to our experience with complex, custom air handling solutions.

In late summer we completed a new boiler plant at a medical center in Wilkes-Barre, PA, replacing three 520 HP water tube boilers, condensate storage tank, DA tank, water softener, water treatment and boiler controls with SCADA. The project also included a 2,000 SF addition and installing temporary boilers to allow the work to be performed without disruption to the facility.

Another milestone involved wrapping up a chiller plant replacement project in St. Petersburg, FL, in partnership with SAW Contracting. The project included installing a modular chiller plant with two 400-ton magnetic bearing compressors and an aesthetically pleasing external cooling tower.

In early fall we were selected for two separate three-year Multiple Award Task Order Contracts (MATOC) with the Veterans Administration to provide general contracting services for VA Medical Centers throughout Texas. The delivery methods include both design-bid-build and design-build projects.

Looking forward, 2018 promises to be even more eventful as we hit milestones and wrap-up multiple projects in other areas of the country as well. We anticipate some exciting award announcements as well as continued opportunities to provide our unique Greenland Enterprises brand of expertise and approach to the specialized construction industry.
