Greenland Performs Cooling Tower Replacement in Downtown Richmond

By February 25, 2016 February 29th, 2016 No Comments

Greenland Enterprises recently performed a complex cooling tower replacement on the roof of The Madison Building in downtown Richmond, VA.  The lift was 200 feet from the ground to the roof and required a crane with a boom more than 300 feet long.

Because of the height and weight of the cooling towers, the crane required 132 tons of counter weights in order to successfully perform the lift without toppling.  The replacement towers weigh in at just over 10,000 pounds.
